Registration
for Faith Formation
You must be a
registered parishioner of St. Mary’s Navilleton for your child , youth
to attend faith formation! Registration begins first Sunday of August
after all masses.
Whole
Community Catechesis
These are required
faith formation sessions for children k-12 but they are sessions that
the parent/guardian/grandmother-father, Aunt, Uncle and Friends are to
come to also. The whole church is invited and expected to come so that
we can grow in our faith together.
Again these are
required faith formation sessions for the children. It is not something
extra. It is counted as a faith formation session provided for your
child. Only exception is we want the rest of the adult church to come
also.
Confirmation
Policy
Parishes in the
archdiocese should invite all persons between the ages of 13 and 18 to
participate in a process of Confirmation and liturgical preparation. It
is during this time in their lives that these young people are being
called to take an important step and to advance their faith journey.
We will not have
Confirmation this year 2008-2009 but next year 2009-2010 we will invite
all youth between ages 13 and 18 to participate in the process of
Confirmation and liturgical preparation.
It is expected that
any youth 13 thru 18 who enter into the confirmation program have
attended the prior year faith formation offered by the Parish.
RCIA
This is a process
where the church community helps to usher in a person into full
initiation in the Catholic Church. It requires persons from the parish
to be a part of a team, that help inquires to journey through a
required time and process before entering into full initiation at the
Easter Vigil. We are making an effort to build such a team this year
2008-2009. Respond to the Spirits leading and call Gary Taylor –
923-5419.
Infant Baptism
Each time one of
your children are to be baptized the parent/guardian are to attend a
required number of sessions. It is encouraged that the God parents
attend also. The required number of sessions are three before the
Baptism. The parent/guardian are to attend all three.
